When is Connaught@Christmas?

Connaught@Christmas runs from Tuesday December 7th to Sunday December 12th 2021.

What if I am late arriving – will I still be able to use my ticket?

We will endeavour to facilitate late entry in some circumstances, subject to the numbers already on site. You may have to wait for 60mins or more if you are late for your allocated entry time. The event has strict numbers to ensure that visitors have the best experience possible.

How can I travel to Connaught@Christmas?

Cars – Connaught@Christmas car parking is available in Manor Road car park immediately adjacent to the gardens. Additional, extensive car parking is also available in the town centre which is a five-to-ten-minute walk away. All car parking is on tarmac surfaces with easy access to the event. The public car parks are run and managed by East Devon District Council and are subject to their normal ticketing prices for Christmas.

Public Transport – there are a number of buses serving Sidmouth which terminate at the Triangle. From there Connaught Gardens is a short 10-minute walk along the seafront and up the slope past the Victoria Hotel.

How do I receive my tickets?

All tickets are E-tickets and are sent with the confirmation email. Paper tickets are available subject to an additional charge at time of booking.

Can I bring my pet/s?

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all only guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed onsite.

What else can I do whilst on site?

Part of the event is a Christmas Food and Craft Village in Manor Road car park. This has over 35 stalls of local craft and food and is free to enter.
You do NOT need to be a ticket holder for the Illuminated Walk to access the Christmas Food and Craft Village.

What happens in the event of a cancellation?

Cancellation is highly unlikely unless going ahead with the event is deemed dangerous to the health, safety or wellbeing of attendees or staff. If an evening has to be cancelled ticketholders will be offered alternative dates or a refund.
All ticket holders will be informed of the cancellation by email at the earliest opportunity with an invite to rebook or receive a refund (less booking fee).

What are the opening hours?

The event is open from 4.30pm until 9.30pm daily with last entry at 8.30pm.

The tickets are bookable at half hour intervals throughout the evenings. You must enter the event no later than 30 minutes after the ticket time you have purchased.

Where is Connaught@Christmas?

Connaught@Christmas takes place in Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth.

The postcode is EX10 8RU. Car parking is available in the Pay & Display car park in Manor Road immediately adjacent to the gardens.

The car park is run and managed by East Devon District Council and is subject to their normal ticketing prices for Christmas.

Who is Connaught@Christmas suitable for?

With solid paths and easy access, the event is aimed at families and groups of all ages. The gardens are wheelchair accessible (some detours for ramps needed).
We recommend stout footwear, but the route does not go over grass or muddy areas so is accessible without wellington boots. Due to the time of year waterproof and warm clothing is recommended.

A disabled guest purchasing a standard adult ticket can bring one essential carer free of charge

A small booking fee is added to each ticket equating to 67p for an adult ticket, 42p for a child ticket and £1.85 for a family ticket.

Will Connaught@Christmas be wheelchair/disabled friendly?

There are wheelchair accessible routes throughout the site, some small detours will be needed to avoid steps. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on site. The car park will have designated blue badge parking.

 Please note that for wheelchair users the route to the event entrance from the car park is slightly longer than for pedestrians, due to a set of steps. This alternative route is on public pavement and is lit.

Can I bring a child’s scooter?

Child scooters are allowed on the Illuminated Walk.

Can I bring my bicycle on the walk?

No, we are afraid you will need to secure your bike outside of the gardens.
